Elon Musk Owns BBC Reporter Who Tried To Tell Him That The Way He Fired People From Twitter Was Too Mean
Let this entire interview serve as a friendly reminder that no one is owed anything. It doesn't matter how long you're at a company, how much time you've put in, if the company is going under and you're the low man on the totem poll...you're out. Simple as that. It's the harsh reality of being an adult because at the end of the day everyone is looking for themself. Even the guy who's worth $200 BILLION. Would it have been nice to give the fine employees of a little Twitter more notice of their pending demise? Perhaps, but they didn't. Instead they got a month's severance and the peace of mind knowing that they spent the last however-many-years being handsomely compensated for doing a nothing job.
That said, you never want to see anyone lose their employment, but I've found that you can only fake it for so long. Eventually the gravy train comes to an end and all you can do is hope that you're still on the car when it starts rolling again. Elon takes a lot of crap, but I'm on his side for this one. Business is not about charity. It's not about feelings. It's about making money and if you can't do that then what's the point. That's all I have for this one. Thanks for reading.
